Yangon Region Investment Committee (YRIC) is an investment promotion agency for both local and foreign business enterprises in compliance with Myanmar Investment Law (MIL) and its rules. H.E Chief Minister for Yangon Region Government leads the committee. The YRIC is comprised of Ministers from Yangon Region Government and Director for Yangon Branch of the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration (DICA Yangon) as a Secretary. Yangon Region Investment Committee' meeting shall be convened twice a month according to Rules 155 and para 10 of State/Region's procedure of Notification no.25/2017 dated 11th May 2017 & 16/2018 14th August 2018,-----------). The first meeting was held on 23rd August 2017.
Myanmar Investment Commission formed Yangon Region Investment Committee by the Notification No. 58/2017 dated on 7 July 2017 according to the Myanmar Investment Law para 24(h).

Yangon Branch Offices of the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration (DICA Yangon) takes a secretariat role to the YRIC for scrutinizing the investment proposals, facilitating business, promoting investment, assisting on investment monitoring and providing services.

While most projects no longer need Myanmar Investment Commission (MIC) approval, those meeting certain criteria will continue to do so. Project proposals continuing to require an MIC permit include businesses that are strategic to the Union; have large capital investments; have a large potential impact on the environment and local community, involve State-owned land, or are designated by the Government as needing a permit.
With most projects no longer needing Myanmar Investment Commission (MIC) approval, the Union Government has introduced a fast-track way to set up a business in Myanmar. Investors can apply to the MIC or the State and Regional investment committee for an Endorsement of an investment proposal.
The One Stop Service (OSS) is organized by government departments and government organizations working together to help investors establish businesses in Myanmar quickly and efficiently. OSS Center is located at the YRIC premises.
